Our Mission
We currently focus on postcards as a medium, but with enough support we hope to expand to other high-visibility printed media such as billboards and bus stops.

In the last few election cycles, postcard-writing volunteers have proven to be a powerhouse for contacting democratic voters, sending out tens of millions of postcards to help Get Out the Vote and for Voter Registration drives. Cartoons for Democracy wants to provide an additional option for volunteers to use humor and satire to connect with voters in less contacted demographics.
We believe by focusing on Independent voters, non-extreme red voters, and blue-leaning voters who are less aligned to party versus issues, we can peel away support for authoritarianism by helping people become aware of the invisible, manipulative hand that billionaires wield in American politics. We also have written to subsets of the MAGA base when we believe having them contact their representatives over shared issues can be beneficial for democracy.
While we do not expect one or more postcards, billboards, or bus ads to directly change a vote, we want to shine a spotlight on the bias in their media sources and cause people to research their issues more thoroughly.

Fundamentally our goal is to undermine the digitally-fed falsehoods from billionaire-controlled media with “digestible at a glance” information that undermines the daily bombardment of billionaire-funded propaganda.
